Scheduled from June 24th, the Cité des enfants – an interactive area in the Paris’ Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie , dedicated to children aged 2 to 12 – will temporarily close for an ambitious renovation. This part of the museum was previously renovated in 2008-2009, but this year’s project promises to be even more extensive.
The objective is to overhaul the visitor experience with new themes, a more inclusive atmosphere, and a variety of surprises aimed at stimulating the curiosity and imagination of young visitors. Previews available online reveal a diverse lineup of activities, including construction workshops, an amusement park-inspired area, and zones dedicated to creativity and technical exploration. Additionally, water enthusiasts can expect the continued presence of water games as a cornerstone attraction.
While the space for younger children (ages 2 to 7) will remain accessible during renovations, it will also undergo significant refurbishment starting in summer 2025, enhancing interactive and educational opportunities.
Through this ambitious initiative, the Cité des enfants aims to reaffirm its status as a leader in scientific and cultural education for youth in Paris, setting new benchmarks within the museum sector.
